Vitamin E Acetate

Vitamin E acetate is a provitamin that the body converts into vitamin E itself. The vitamin fulfils an important task – especially with regard to the skin: as a fat-soluble antioxidant, it protects the body's own fatty acids from destruction by oxidation. The membranes of skin cells in particular depend on this protection, as these cells are particularly exposed to oxidative stress, including UV radiation. The radicals produced by oxidation are able to destroy the fatty acid chains and thus cause cell death. Vitamin E captures these radicals and prevents them from their destructive work.

Through this antioxidant effect, vitamin E strengthens the skin's barrier function and significantly slows down skin aging.
