ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-8

Acetyl hexapeptide-8 is a compound of six (Greek hexa) amino acids. It was first produced and researched in 2002. Its special ability was revealed: like the controversial food toxin botulinum toxin (BOTOX), the compound is able to specifically inhibit the release of neurotransmitters – with the effect that expression lines are smoothed out.

Because acetyl hexapeptide-8 does not cause allergies, the compound has been widely used in cosmetics since its discovery. When applied to the skin, it is a safe and gentle alternative to botox injections.
