Evening Primrose Oil

The evening primrose has earned its name. Because the high-stalked plant only opens its magnificent flowers at dusk. Originally the evening primrose comes from North America, where the indigenous population has used the crushed seeds as a remedy since ancient times. The plant has become indispensable in naturopathy – it is used for various allergies as well as rheumatism.

Among the vegetable oils, evening primrose oil – with its high content of linoleic acid – is a jewel: from it, the body produces the fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid, which has a strong anti-inflammatory effect and prevents dermatoses, sunburn and other infections. Also thanks to its other active ingredients, evening primrose oil is particularly suitable for calming sensitive skin.
