SORBITOL

Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol of plant origin. It was first extracted from the fruit of mountain ash, although it is also found in large quantities in many types of pome fruit. Corn is now used industrially for its production.

Similar to glycerine, sorbitol is used in skin care products as a humectant that prevents creams and emulsions from drying out. In addition, sugar alcohol acts as a moisturizer for the skin thanks to its ability to attract water from the environment.
