SILICA

Silicia, also known as silicon dioxide, is the most important component of the earth's crust. Sand in particular has a particularly high proportion of SiO2. But silicon dioxide is also widely used in everyday life. It is found in glass production and semiconductor technology as well as in medicine and cosmetics. Since silicon dioxide does not interact with any other active ingredients, but still changes the viscosity of liquids, it is often used to form gels and emulsions. It is also able to attract water from the environment – an ability that makes silica a reliable moisturizer.

Together with titanium dioxide crystals, it not only ensures a good viscosity for hand creams, but also helps to lighten the skin through white pigmentation.
